OUR CLUB

Wiliamstown Croquet Club has a rich history. It was founded in 1926. The history of the club can best be summed up by the 50th Anniversary historical poem written by Maud McConville. Click HERE to read.

The club is located at 104 Victoria Street, Williamstown Melway P56 A8.
Members are free to use use the facilities anytime they are free and there are regular association croquet, golf croquet and gateball sessions to the timetable below.

WHY PLAY CROQUET?

Croquet is an addictive, challenging game that can be enjoyed by young and old, beginner and expert. In addition to the physical skill involved in playing the games there is also a significant tactical side to them. It has been described to "snooker on grass" and this is quite accurate.

Croquet also has a strong social aspect and even the top players are always willing to spend time teaching newer players tips and techniques for playing the game.

Why not head on down to Williamstown and give it a try to find out for yourself?

CLUB ADMINISTRATION

The club is administered by an Executive of 7 members. These members meet each month to conduct the day-to-day administration of the club and look towards future directions for the club.

A general meeting of the all members is held bi-monthly. Members receive reports from the Executive and raise matters of general interest. There is a cohesive spirit among the members and a very social and community minded atmosphere is evident.
The president is elected for a maximum of three terms. The Executive is elected annually in June.
